Whether you are supporting Forms, Sites, or enterprise integrations such as Adobe Sign and LDAP authentication, strong administration skills are essential for long-term system reliability and security. This section equips you with the knowledge and confidence to manage AEM environments professionally—reducing risk, improving performance, and positioning yourself as a trusted AEM administrator within your organization.
Course List
Installation
This course teaches students how to properly install and initialize AEM Author and Publish instances in a local development environment. Students work with the AEM 6.5 Quickstart JAR, Forms Add-on Package, and the corresponding Service Pack to ensure version alignment and bundle stability. The course demonstrates how to configure JVM parameters such as heap sizing and port assignments, run AEM as a service, and establish replication between Author and Publish. By the end of the course, students will have fully operational, correctly configured AEM instances with all OSGi bundles active and ready for development or testing.
Configure HTTPS
This course teaches students how to properly configure HTTPS on an AEM 6.5 server using a trusted Certificate Authority (CA) certificate. Students learn the end-to-end process of obtaining a publicly trusted certificate, performing DNS-based domain validation, preparing certificate assets with OpenSSL, and importing the private key and certificate chain into AEM using the Granite SSL Configuration Wizard. The course explains the technical differences between self-signed and CA-issued certificates, emphasizing browser trust, certificate chaining, and encrypted communication. By the end of the course, students understand how HTTPS enables secure integrations such as Adobe Sign, eliminates browser security warnings, and establishes a production-ready security posture for enterprise AEM deployments.
Server Configuration
This course focuses on configuring essential services within AEM Author and Publish environments. Students learn how to configure SMTP mail, authentication services, datasources and database drivers, Forms-related services, and key system-level configurations such as deserialization and prefill services. The course emphasizes understanding the purpose of each service, how it integrates into the broader AEM architecture, and how to verify proper operation. By the conclusion, students will have a properly configured server capable of supporting enterprise-level Forms and workflow functionality.
User Administration
This course teaches students how to properly manage users, groups, and permissions within AEM. Students secure their environments by changing default administrative credentials, structuring user and group storage using rep:Authorizable folders, and creating role-based access controls. The course demonstrates how to assign permissions, configure ACLs, and manage system users such as Anonymous and Everyone. By the end of the course, students understand how to implement secure, maintainable authorization models that align with enterprise security best practices.
Repository
This course examines the structure, health, and maintenance of the AEM repository. Students learn how to prevent datastore inconsistencies by configuring Microsoft Defender exclusions, perform repository consistency checks using the BlobGarbageCollection JMX utility, and understand the limitations of legacy tools. The course also covers Tar Compaction and Revision Cleanup to maintain repository performance and stability. By the end, students will understand how to monitor, maintain, and protect the integrity of their AEM content repository in production environments.
Document Services Configuration
This course introduces AEM’s Document Services running on the OSGi stack, including services historically associated with Adobe LiveCycle. Students configure and test the Reader Extensions Service and the Output Service, including the use of XCI configuration files. The course explains how these services extend document capabilities and integrate into modern AEM Forms workflows. By the conclusion, students will understand how to enable and manage document-level processing services within an OSGi-based AEM deployment.
OSGi Configurations and Run Modes
This course teaches students how to create and manage OSGi configuration nodes to build portable, environment-specific server configurations. Students learn how run modes enable targeted configuration across Author, Publish, and other environments, and how to package these configurations for consistent deployment. The course contrasts Web Console configuration with repository-based configuration nodes, emphasizing portability and version control. By the end, students understand how to centralize and manage AEM configurations in a scalable and maintainable way.
LDAP Integration
This course teaches students how to integrate AEM with enterprise LDAP directories for authentication and user synchronization. Students configure the AEM LDAP Identity Provider, Default Sync Handler, and External Login Module to map directory users and groups into AEM. The course explains how LDAP manages identity while AEM controls authorization and permissions. By the end, students will understand how to leverage existing enterprise directory infrastructure to streamline user management and authentication in AEM.
Operations
This course introduces students to AEM’s Operations dashboard and built-in system monitoring tools. Students learn how to interpret Health Reports, configure maintenance tasks, and review security checks to ensure long-term system stability. The course emphasizes proactive administration through scheduled maintenance activities and performance monitoring. By the end, students will understand how to monitor and maintain AEM environments to ensure consistent performance and operational reliability.
Log Files
This course teaches students how to interpret and customize AEM log files for troubleshooting and monitoring. Students review default logging configurations and create targeted loggers for replication, queries, LDAP, and custom services. The course also demonstrates how to adjust log levels and implement OSGi-based logging configurations. By the end, students will understand how to use logging strategically to diagnose issues, isolate application behavior, and maintain operational visibility within their AEM environments.
IIS and Dispatcher
This course teaches students how to install and configure Adobe Dispatcher within a Microsoft IIS environment. Students learn the architecture of Dispatcher, how it integrates with AEM Publish, and how to configure it on both Windows Server and Windows 10 systems. The course emphasizes proper setup for secure, scalable content delivery. By the end, students will understand how to connect IIS and Dispatcher to AEM to support production-ready publishing environments.
Publishing Overview
This course provides a foundational overview of publishing content from AEM Author to Publish environments. Students configure Replication Agents, monitor publishing processes, and review log files to validate successful replication. The course explains the publishing lifecycle for Sites, Assets, and Forms. By the end, students understand how content moves through the AEM architecture and how to monitor and troubleshoot the publishing process.
Dispatcher
This course explores the configuration and customization of the Dispatcher module for caching and load balancing. Students review the structure and syntax of the dispatcher.any configuration file and learn how to modularize it for maintainability. The course demonstrates how to configure load balancing, caching rules, vanity URLs, and filtering to optimize performance and security. By the end, students understand how to design and maintain a robust Dispatcher configuration for scalable AEM deployments.
Dispatcher Flush
This course focuses on cache invalidation and content freshness within Dispatcher environments. Students configure Dispatcher Flush agents on both Author and Publish instances and test how content updates trigger cache invalidation. The course also demonstrates how to selectively deny caching for dynamic content. By the end, students understand how to maintain performance while ensuring users receive updated content in a distributed publishing environment.
CAPTCHA
This course teaches students how to configure and integrate CAPTCHA protection within AEM Adaptive Forms. Students configure the AEM reCAPTCHA Cloud Service using Google’s reCAPTCHA and implement the out-of-the-box CAPTCHA component in forms. The course explains how CAPTCHA enhances form security by distinguishing between human users and automated bots.
