AEM Forms as a Cloud Service Training

Enterprise Cloud-Based AEM Forms Training

This section focuses on building and deploying solutions using Adobe’s AEM Forms as a Cloud Service, Adobe’s modern, managed platform for delivering scalable, cloud-native form experiences. While many core concepts—such as Adaptive Forms, workflow design, and data integration—remain consistent with AEM Forms on OSGi, this platform introduces a fundamentally different operating model based on cloud infrastructure, continuous delivery, and managed services.

Students learn how to adapt their existing AEM Forms knowledge to the cloud by working with CI/CD pipelines, cloud-based environments, and configuration-driven deployments. The courses in this section cover administration, Core Component development, workflow automation, and the architectural differences between on-premise and cloud implementations. By the end of this section, students will understand how to design, deploy, and manage enterprise AEM Forms solutions in Adobe’s cloud environment.

Administration

This course teaches students how to administer Adobe’s AEM Forms as a Cloud Service environment, with a focus on how administrative responsibilities differ from traditional on-premise AEM Forms implementations. Rather than managing servers and infrastructure, students learn how to work within Adobe’s managed cloud platform using identity services, environment configurations, and cloud-based access controls.

Students begin by exploring the architecture of AEM Forms as a Cloud Service, including its Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) model, built-in scalability, and integration with a global Content Delivery Network (CDN). The course introduces Adobe Identity Management System (IMS) and demonstrates how users, groups, and product access are managed centrally, with AEM user accounts automatically provisioned upon login. Students also learn how to assign permissions and roles across both IMS and AEM environments.

The course then focuses on essential administrative tasks required to support form development and delivery in the cloud. Students configure their AEM Forms environment by installing Adaptive Form templates and themes, manage sandbox environments—including hibernation behavior—and execute deployment pipelines as part of a controlled cloud workflow. By the end of the course, students will understand how to effectively administer AEM Forms in a cloud-native environment using modern tools and best practices.

Introduction to Adaptive Forms

This course introduces students to building Adaptive Forms using Adobe’s AEM Forms as a Cloud Service platform. While many core concepts are similar to on-premise AEM Forms, the course focuses specifically on how these capabilities are implemented within Adobe’s cloud-native, managed environment. Students begin by exploring the architecture of AEM Forms as a Cloud Service, including its Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) model, built-in scalability, and performance benefits such as integrated Content Delivery Network (CDN) support.

Students then work hands-on with the Adaptive Forms editor to create and configure forms, learning how to use the side panel, component library, and form container settings to control structure, behavior, and submission logic. The course introduces the Create Form wizard, submission options, and key configuration areas such as themes, data binding, and form properties. Students also explore different Form Model options—including implicit and explicit data binding using schemas and Form Data Models—and understand how these models influence form data structure and integration.

The course concludes with form submission and processing concepts, including generating a Document of Record (DoR) and integrating Adaptive Forms with AEM workflows. Students learn how to configure workflow-based submissions and map form data, attachments, and generated documents to workflow variables. By the end of the course, students will have a clear understanding of how to design, configure, and submit Adaptive Forms in a cloud-based AEM environment.

Advanced Forms

This course teaches students how to build advanced Adaptive Forms in Adobe’s AEM Forms as a Cloud Service by integrating security features and enterprise data services. While the foundational concepts of Adaptive Forms remain consistent with on-premise implementations, this course focuses on applying those concepts within a cloud-native environment that emphasizes scalability, external integrations, and configuration-driven services.

Students begin by enhancing form security using the CAPTCHA component, configured through AEM Cloud Services and integrated with Google reCAPTCHA. The course then introduces data integration concepts, including creating and configuring data sources for both SOAP and REST services. Students learn how AEM Forms supports multiple service types and how to work with modern REST-based APIs using tools such as Swagger, while also understanding the role of legacy SOAP services in enterprise environments.

The course continues with hands-on development using Form Data Models (FDM), where students connect forms to back-end systems, define data structures, and configure services within the Form Data Model Editor. Students build forms that dynamically retrieve, update, and persist data by invoking FDM services during form initialization, user interaction, and submission. By the end of the course, students will be able to design secure, data-driven Adaptive Forms that integrate seamlessly with enterprise systems in a cloud-based AEM environment.

Workflow

This course teaches students how to design and implement workflows in Adobe’s AEM Forms as a Cloud Service, with a focus on processing form submissions, integrating with enterprise data, and managing workflow execution in a cloud-based environment. While many workflow concepts are familiar from AEM Forms on JEE and OSGi, this course emphasizes how those capabilities are applied within Adobe’s managed cloud platform and modern deployment model.

Students begin by exploring the AEM Workflow tools, including workflow models, instances, and administrative views such as failures and archives. They learn how to build design-time workflow models, synchronize them to runtime, and manage workflow execution. The course covers workflow variables, payload handling, transitions, and the use of both standard and transient workflows, providing a strong foundation for designing scalable and maintainable workflow solutions.

The course then focuses on integrating workflows with Adaptive Forms and external data sources. Students use the Invoke Form Data Model Service step to connect workflows to back-end systems, process JSON and XML data, and handle form submissions that include attachments and Document of Record (DoR) outputs. Additional topics include data structure considerations such as adaptive form wrappers, schema-based binding, and XPath construction. Students also explore features such as watched folders and manual workflow invocation for testing and automation scenarios.

By the end of the course, students will be able to design, build, and test end-to-end workflow solutions that process form data, integrate with enterprise systems, and operate effectively within AEM Forms as a Cloud Service.

SDK Developer

This course teaches developers how to build, package, and deploy custom AEM Forms applications for Adobe’s AEM Forms as a Cloud Service using the AEM SDK and modern cloud-based development practices. Unlike traditional on-premise development, where code is deployed directly to a server, this course focuses on the cloud-native model of local development combined with pipeline-driven deployment through Adobe Cloud Manager.

Students begin by setting up their local development environment by downloading and installing the AEM SDK, AEM Forms add-on, and reference packages that align with the cloud service environment. They learn how to run AEM locally, create and structure an AEM Forms application, and ensure compatibility between local development and cloud deployments.

The course then focuses on deploying applications to AEM Forms as a Cloud Service using CI/CD pipelines. Students learn how to package their applications, execute pipeline builds, and promote code through cloud environments using Adobe’s deployment model. By the end of the course, students will understand how to develop and deploy AEM Forms solutions using a modern, cloud-native workflow that supports scalability, consistency, and continuous delivery.
